Between the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the era of the Republic of China, Qikou became an important commercial town in the north by virtue of transportation on the Yellow River, and was known as the first town along the Yellow River. During Spring Festival, the ancient town held its first annual cultural food festival. [Photo by Wu Xiaohui/chinadaily.com.cn]
