Fake doctor jailed for 6 years for rape

A fake doctor in Chengdu who raped a female patient after injecting her with a sedative has been jailed for six years and four months and fined 4,000 yuan ($590).
Prosecutors accused Luo Ping of rape, robbery and using false identification documents and he was convicted this month by the Shuangliu District People's Court in Chengdu, the capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, the Hongxing News website reported on Monday.
The woman he raped, surnamed Li, went to the Shuangliu district hospital where Luo worked in May last year. Luo took her into an examination room and injected her with a sedative and then raped her when she lost consciousness.
Li wanted to call the police after she found that Luo had raped her, but Luo took away her mobile phone. Luo also tried to convince Li not to call the police, but Li refused.
Li screamed to attract the attention of other staff and left the room after they arrived. She then called the police. Luo fled the scene and dropped Li's mobile phone and his work clothes into a trash can. He then fled Chengdu and was arrested in Nanchong on May 12.
Investigators found he had applied for a fake identification card and fake doctor's qualification and practice certificates.
Luo submitted the fake documents to the hospital, where he worked from 2016 to 2018.
