China is making its efforts to protect digital cultural innovation intellectual property a priority as the Tencent Games Carnival 2019 is held in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Chinese internet titan Tencent Holdings Ltd signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chengdu to promote IP protection in the digital cultural innovation industry during the four-day event, which started Friday.

China is the world's largest mobile games market with about 600 million gamers, more than double the total population of the United States, according to the Research and Markets firm.

The country's online gaming market is expected to surpass $75 billion, and the userbase is projected to cross 700 million by the end of 2024.
