About 40 calligraphy artists and enthusiasts gathered on Jan 23 at a shopping center in Shanghai to create Spring Festival couplets.
The newly created couplets, as well as 1,000 other prepared ones and the character Fu – which means fortune, were distributed to stores, companies and community residents at Lonsen Plaza in Minhang district as Chinese New Year gifts.
According to the organizers, more than 2,800 couplets have been gathered since the collection drive was launched in October.
