MOSCOW - There is no hope of finding survivors from the ship fire in the Kerch Strait connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, Russia's Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) said Tuesday.

Rosmorrechflot's press service was quoted by TASS news agency as saying, "As of 6 am local time (0300 GMT) the rescue teams ended the rescue operation."

The fire has not been extinguished and the blaze is ongoing, Rosmorrechflot added.

According to the latest information, the fire broke out on Monday during the transfer of liquefied natural gas from one vessel to another.

Rosmorrechflot said 12 people were rescued, 10 died and 10 were reported missing in the incident.
