Heavy snow to hit parts of west China
BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- More heavy snowfalls are forecasted to hit parts of west China for the upcoming days.
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) on Sunday forecasted heavy snow and blizzard in the western areas of Tibet Autonomous Region from Sunday to Wednesday, and light and moderate snow, sleet in western Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the provinces of Gansu, Qinghai and Guizhou from Sunday to Monday.
Snowfalls are also expected to hit northeast China's Heilongjiang province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the next three days, the NMC said.
The observatory also forecast light and moderate rainfalls in south China at Sunday night, which will bring about temperature drops by four to six degrees Celsius.
Rainfall in south China is expected to cease Monday, it added.
