Very often, those who want to try swinging over a cliff several hundred meters high at a park in the Wansheng district of Southwest China's Chongqing city have second thoughts once the swing is pulled to the highest point and about to drop.

Wansheng Ordovician Park, a scenic spot that operates the swing, recently set up a "regret pill" program to improve tourists' experience by offering a way out if panic overwhelms them.

When someone wants to get off the swing when it reaches the highest point, he can make a promise to buy a "regret pill" for a donation of their choice and then get off. The swing is 21 meters high on the edge of a mountain cliff with a drop that's several hundred meters deep. It's attracted many people who want to challenge their nerve.

"But some really regret their decision when they get on the swing," said Zhao Zhidan, the project manager.

The option to back out at the last minute by offering a donation was suggested by tourists, according to the manager.

"There is no fixed price for a pill, which is just a vitamin pill," Zhao said. "The money will be donated to a local poverty alleviation program."
