BEIJING - China's Geely Holding Group (ZGH) has applied to recall 89,657 vehicles due to defective fuel pumps, the country's market regulator has said.
The State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement that ZGH and Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacture Co., a unit of ZGH, have decided to recall a total of 42,216 vehicles of Geely Vision and GC7 models manufactured between Oct 7, 2010, and July 7, 2012.
In addition, 47,441 EC7 models produced between July 5, 2011, and May 31, 2012, will also recalled.
Flaws in the vehicle fuel pumps could cause stalling and pose safety hazards.
The producer will address the problem by replacing parts free of charge for affected car owners.
