LPG tanker leaks off China coast

JINAN, Jan. 12 -- A liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker, registered in the Republic of Korea, leaked LPG into sea waters near the Dongying port in east China's Shandong Province Saturday morning.
According to local government, the leakage happened around 10:30 a.m. The ship carried 1,850 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas, and had 15 people onboard when the accident happened. All crew members are foreigners.
Efforts have been made to deal with the accident. The government is monitoring the environment around the area. Ships nearby have been warned to avoid the area.
