As Spring Festival draws near, residents in Shijiazhuang, capital city of North China's Hebei province, have started purchasing special items for the festival.

The things they are preparing for the festival, which falls on Feb 5 this year, include lanterns, chunlian, or Spring Festival couplets, and paper cuttings for window decoration.

Households usually use them to decorate their homes to welcome the new year.
