Fostering closer ties through poetry

The 2018 Chinese Poetry Performance and Award Ceremony of Schools for Children of Foreign Nationals took place on Thursday at the No 2 High School of East China Normal University.

A total of 118 performances by children from international kindergartens as well as primary, middle and high schools were staged during the event.

Aimed at building a bridge for foreigner's children to understand Chinese culture, the event was co-hosted by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Shanghai Educational Center of Science and Art, the International Division of No 2 High School of East China Normal University, and sponsored by Bank of China's Shanghai Branch.

The performances such as Ode to Goose from the British International School Shanghai, Dream to the Silk Road from the Shanghai High School International Division, and Reciting the Past, Chanting the Present from the Baoshan Youngster Art Activity Center were some of the award-winning shows staged.
