Dong Qichang exhibition now on at Shanghai Museum

"We are showcasing not just the artworks by Dong himself, but also important artists and calligraphers ahead of him who made a great impact on his art and those by later artists under his influence," Yang said. "We hope to create a panoramic exhibition that presents the artist and his ideas in the context of the art history."

Among the most celebrated exhibits is The Remaining Mountain, borrowed from Zhejiang Provincial Museum in Hangzhou.
