Resonating views

In these remarks, we can see Xi made distinct judgment on the historic trends and voiced clear messages. Economic globalization and multi-polarization are unstoppable. Peace, opening up and win-win cooperation are the common aspirations of the people. China will always adhere to the opening-up policy. Besides, Xi also articulated many other points in his speeches that resonated around the world.

Reform and opening-up, China’s second revolution if you like, has not only profoundly changed the country but also greatly influenced the whole world.

——Keynote speech at the opening of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018

We should reject the Cold War mentality and confrontation between blocs and oppose the practices of seeking absolute security of oneself at the expense of others, so as to achieve security of all.

——Remarks at the 18th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of The Shanghai Cooperation Organization

China will continue to grow an open economy for win-win cooperation, and it will embrace an open world economy and the multilateral trading system and reject protectionism and unilateralism. No one who keeps himself in isolation on a single island will have a future.

——Keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation

In a world of deepening economic globalization, practices of the law of the jungle and winner-takes-all only represent a dead end. Inclusive growth for all is surely the right way forward.

——Keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the first China International Import Expo

Xi has voiced resolute and clear messages on the part of China through the four China-hosted events.
