A special race for women in high heels was held Friday to Sunday in Fuling district of Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
All participants, classified into multiple groups, had to wear high heels, 7 to 12 centimeters in height and no more than 2 centimeters in width. No tape or rope is allowed to be attached to the heels to fasten them.
This weekend marked the race's fifth annual event, which attracted over 1,000 women from home and abroad.
"It is just for fun," said Zhang Chaoying, 46, who ran the race with her best female friend.
The organizers said this event is held not merely for fun, but to raise women's health awareness.
