Young performers put on a musical show expressing their interpretations of traditional Chinese paintings at the Palace Museum in Beijing this Monday. Renowned music producer Zhang Yadong and lyric writer Vincent Fang joined the event.

The "If ancient paintings could sing" contest was organized by the Palace Museum, QQ Music and NEXT IDEA, a music competition held by tech giant Tencent. This year, the museum granted the use of master paintings such as A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains, Along the River During the Qingming Festival, An Ode to the Goddess of Luo River, to encourage the revival of cultural essence.
