Licenses of 34 travel agencies revoked for illegal practices

BEIJING - Business licenses of 34 travel agencies were revoked for illegal practices during a three-month special campaign that concluded in late September, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said.
A total of 24,390 travel companies were inspected, and there was more than 12.15 million yuan (about $1.77 million) in fines given during the campaign, the ministry said.
Authorities also filed 1,103 cases against such practices, it said.
They monitored the price of online travel products, and ordered the withdrawal of 5,832 pieces of information promoting "unqualified" travel products, it said.
