Chinese president appoints new ambassadors

BEIJING -- President Xi Jinping has appointed four new ambassadors in accordance with a decision by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, according to a statement from China's top legislature Tuesday.

Huang Wei was appointed China's ambassador to Guinea, replacing Bian Jianqiang.

Zhang Jianmin was appointed the ambassador to the Czech Republic, replacing Ma Keqing.

Cao Zhongming was appointed the ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, replacing Qu Xing.

Wang Qun was appointed China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, replacing Shi Zhongjun.
