Cultural tourism giant to launch largest festival in China

To honor the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, the Shenzhen-based State-owned enterprise Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) will launch the largest-scale cultural and tourism festival that China has ever seen.

The festival, which takes place in over 50 cities from October to November, will provide travelers with a selection of more than 100 themed celebrations.

Through this event, OCT will rejuvenate some of the best Chinese natural and cultural sites, including theme parks, scenic spots, ancient towns and beautiful countryside escapes. At the same time, it will offer a family-centered travel package that allows people of all ages to have fun.

During a news conference on Thursday, OCT launched the online platform Huacheng Travel, which features all of the company's tourism products, from entrance tickets to hotel accommodations.

Established in 1985, OCT has built up some of China's top tourism brands, including Happy Valley, a Disney-like theme park in China, and Splendid China, a cultural park showcasing miniature versions of landscapes across China.

"The growth of OCT is closely connected with the prosperity of China," said Yao Jun, general manager for OCT. "In the future, we will shoulder more social responsibility and bring a better travel experience to the Chinese people."
