Future science forum commences at Jilin University
The first Future Science Forum opened at Jilin University in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, on Sept 17.
Over 140 international top scientists, experts and scholars gathered for the event, including German biochemist Hartmut Michel, 1988 Nobel Prize laureate in chemistry, and Dan Shechtman of the Technion Institute in Israel, 2011 Nobel laureate in chemistry.
With the theme of "Frontiers of Science and Future of Mankind", the two-day forum includes nine theme forums, namely Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Frontiers in Quantum Physics, Nano Science and New Energy Materials, Advanced Information Devices, New Materials and Advanced Processing Technology, High-end Equipment manufacturing, New Energy and Environment, Translational Medicine and Precision Medicine.
During the forum Jing Junhai, governor of Jilin province, Li Yuanyuan, president of Jilin University, and Hou Zengqian, deputy director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, presented and addressed the opening ceremony.
