World's 10 tallest buildings completed in 2017

Ping An Finance Center, located in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, was the tallest building completed in 2017, at 599 meters. It is now the second-tallest building in China, and the fourth-tallest building in the world.

Each year, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) publishes a study that examines all 200-meter-plus buildings that were completed during the preceding year.

According to the report, a total of 144 buildings were completed in the world last year. For the 10th year running, China had the most 200-meter-plus completions with 76, representing 53 percent of the total. The United States took second place with 10 completions, and South Korea followed closely with seven.

China's Shenzhen had the highest number of 200-meter-plus completions with 12, while Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, took second place with seven and Chengdu in Sichuan province tied Indonesia's Jakarta with five.
