Four cooperative documents were signed on Wednesday to promote cooperation between China and Sao Tome and Principe in agriculture, technology and culture. The signing was witnessed by Premier Li Keqiang and Patrice Trovoada, prime minister of Sao Tome and Principe.

China appreciates the firm adherence of Sao Tome and Principe to the one-China policy and is willing to advance pragmatic cooperation with the African country, Li said in a meeting with Trovoada ahead of the signing ceremony.

Since restoring diplomatic ties between the two countries, bilateral relations have seen all-around and fast development with deepened political mutual trust, Li said.

Li said that China firmly supports Sao Tome and Principe's efforts in safeguarding its sovereignty, economic independence and sustainable development. China is willing to move forward the partnership between the two nations to a new high level for new achievements, he added.

Trovoada extended his congratulations on the successful 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, which concluded on Tuesday. He said Sao Tome and Principe is committed to the one-China policy and will strengthen exchanges and coordination with China in multilateral occasions.
