Children's drama adapted from Russian story premieres in Chengdu

A drama for children, Magic Quill, recently premiered in Chengdu, the capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province. The play based on a classical Russian fairy tale, is about of a girl's adventure to save a prince who is changed into a magic quill due to curse.

Speaking about the drama, director Sun Xiaopeng says: "I hope it will touch not only the children, but also their parents who will come along."

For the play, advanced stage techniques were used to give the audience a unique experience.

"We wanted to do a really fine work," says Sun.

College students majoring in performing arts were involved in the acting.

The drama will also be staged in cities around China.
