Harbin eye doctor returns from Mauritania with honor

"Harbin has a long history of sending medical personnel to the country," Li said. "I feel quite honored to be a member of the 32nd team and to participate in the mission."

Before returning, the team was received by the Mauritanian premier, who awarded Li the country's top Medal of Honor.

"The medal is the best present for the first Medical Workers' Day and it is also a big achievement in my career," he told China Daily.
