A lucky passenger on a trip from Zhuhai to Guangzhou in southern China had his lost bag returned by railway staff who found it during a regular inspection of the train as it neared the end of its route. But this was no ordinary bag of clothes and toiletries - it contained cash, jewelry, and a laptop totaling around 400,000 yuan (about $58,800).
Meng Bin, the staff member from China's high-speed railway service, found a name card in the bag with the owner's information. The man, surnamed Zhu, said he left the bag when he left the train on Tuesday.
A very grateful Zhu expressed his gratitude to Meng. He explained that the money in the bag was for his business and his travel expenses.
