The International Army Games 2018 hosted by Chinese PLA Army next Monday in Korla, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, offers a good platform for global military exchanges, said Senior Colonel Liao Yanling, spokesperson of the PLA army.

The 10-day event includes three warfare games: Suvorov Attack, Clear Sky and Safe Route, where 17 teams from 10 countries will participate. China has also sent teams to compete in other 16 events held abroad.

It is the second time that Chinese army will host the games, Liao said in a press conference on Friday.

He said compared with the games last year, this year's event focuses more on realistic battles with the competition fields and the game procedure more adjusted to realistic combat standards.

They also have stronger technical support for judgment, targets, display control and broadcasting, their services are more optimized and the games equipment more perfected.

Liao said the Chinese PLA Army always upheld the principles of professionalism, openness, friendship and win-win cooperation and hoped they could exchange military development with different armies and present a confident and responsible image of PLA Army in the meantime.

"All the Chinese participants are determined to exert bravery and fighting capabilities and I hope all the participating countries will achieve excellent results."

This year's event include a total of 28 games. China, Belarus, Egypt, Iran, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Zimbabwe will be competing this year.
