Editor's note: Prince Louis, the third child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was christened at the Chapel Royal of St James's Palace in central London on Monday.

Every time a prince or princess is christened, pictures of the event are sure to go viral. Baptism, part of the ceremony, is a Christian tradition in which a person has water poured on their head or is briefly covered in water to show they have become a member of the church. Let's take a look at some pictures of royal babies being christened.
