LONDON - The fire in Mayfair of downtown London has been under control as one was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation, local authorities confirmed Tuesday.
Eight fire engines and 58 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats in Mayfair.
Half of a flat on the first floor and part of a flat on the second floor were damaged by the fire, according to London Fire Brigade.
Two men were treated at the scene after being rescued.
It is not known whether there are any other casualties or what has caused the fire.
The fire came as the city commemorated the one year anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire which claimed 72 lives.
Mayfair is an affluent area in the city with a dense presence of high-end hotels and clubs.
