Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among college students

Discussions on promoting international cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship were held at the Globe Maker Summit that opened on May 22 in Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi province.
A total of nearly 400 people participated in the event including makers from home and abroad and foreign students studying in Xi’an, as well as teachers and students at local universities and colleges.
They shared their willingness to further promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
William Franklin, chairman of the China Investors Club, said that the summit was a very good opportunity for the makers to communicate and cooperate and expressed his hope for more similar activities in future.
At the summit ceremony, Franklin and six other foreign guests were awarded advisor’s certificates of the Design Talent Training Program by the Beilin district government.
In addition, the Summit indicated the opening of the Global Competitiveness Course for the Makers on Campus, intending to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among college students.
The activity will last until May 28.
The events were sponsored by the Xi’an municipal Party committee and the municipal government and undertaken by the city’s Beilin district Party committee and district government.
