Firework explosion kills 1, injures 26 others in northwestern Spain

MADRID -- At least one person was killed and 26 others were injured in a firework explosion in the municipality of Tui, in Spain's northwestern region of Galicia, the emergency services reported on Wednesday.
The injured -- 19 adults and 7 children -- were admitted into nearby hospitals.
The explosion occurred at 16:26 local time (14:26 GTM) in a private house, in the town of Tui.
The city council of Tui said they were not aware of these fireworks and explained that a former factory located in the area had been closed years ago.
People were evacuated from their homes and firemen are still checking every house in order to know if there are more injured people in the area that was devastated by the expansive wave which destroyed many houses.
