Romain Collin

Described by NPR host Jon Weber as "a visionary composer, an extraordinary jazz pianist and a very bright young rising star in the jazz world", and touted by the Boston Globe as being "among the leading lights of a new breed of jazz players", Romain Collin continues to develop "a highly personal and contemporary vision" (A Blog Supreme, NPR), combining the tradition of improvisation with sound designing, and classical music. Having just released his third record, Press Enter (ACT), described by The New York Times as a "winning new album" and hailed by Jazz journal, UK as an "absolute masterpiece", Collin keeps developing "a unique voice ... a crystal clear vision" (UK VIBE), making his mark on the New York scene, as well as internationally.

National Ballet of China Swan Lake

Date: April 29-May 1 - 7:30 pm

In 1876, Tchaikovsky composed the score for his timeless ballet, Swan Lake, which premiered in 1895. The Imperial Ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre, and choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov had enjoyed tremendous success. Swan Lake has long been a must-perform piece for all the ballet companies of the world.

In 1958, under the guidance of Soviet expert Pyotr Gusev, the National Ballet of China brought Swan Lake to a Chinese stage for the very first time, marking the ballet from the West first taking root in the East. More than 50 years later, Swan Lake is a household name in China. Meanwhile, the National Ballet of China had experimented, putting out two new versions of Swan Lake in a row, using mostly young dancers, and attracted so much attention. For many years, the National Ballet of China has presented their audiences with selected versions of Swan Lake and has ultimately chosen to stage the one of the ballet divas, Natalia Makarova.

Grammy Festival Beijing 2018

The first round of superstar acts set to perform at the Grammy Festival in Beijing have been announced and taking the stage will be Grammy winners Daya, Macy Gray Phoenix and 11-time Grammy winner Pharrell Williams, alongside past Grammy nominees like Carly Rae Jepsen, James Bay and OneRepublic. The iconic Grammy Awards celebrate the very best in creative excellence and are universally considered the music community's highest honor. The Recording Academy, the organization responsible for the Grammy Awards, represents the voices of performers, songwriters, producers, engineers, and all music professionals. As the world's leading society of music professionals, the Academy works year-round to foster a more inspiring world for creators.

Julius Caesar by TNT Theatre Britain

Date: May 5 - 7:30 pm

Venue: Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall

The Tragedy of Julius Caesar is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written in 1599. It is one of several plays written by Shakespeare based on true events from Roman history, which also include Coriolanus and Antony and Cleopatra. Although the play is named Julius Caesar, Brutus speaks more than four times as many lines as the title character; and the central psychological drama of the play focuses on Brutus' struggle between the conflicting demands of honor, patriotism, and friendship.
