Caka Salt Lake park opens after renovation

XINING — Caka Salt Lake park in Northwest China's Qinghai province has opened to tourists after six months of renovation.
The salt lake, with an altitude of 3,100 meters, is in Wulan county, Haixi prefecture. The natural crystallized saline lake is known as the "mirror of the sky."
The park drew 15,000 visitors from home and abroad on its first day of opening Thursday.
"I've been here three years ago, but this time it is more convenient with better services," said Liu from Southwest China's Sichuan province.
The parking lot and restrooms were upgraded. Meanwhile, a smart travel system provides hotels, retail stores and professional tour guides.
"Visitors can have a better experience now with only a smart phone in hand, " said Li Jiankang, general manager of the lake's management company.
Admission to the park will be free from April 26 to May 10.
In 2017, Haixi prefecture received 13.75 million visitors, and 2.76 million tourists visited Caka Salt Lake.
