Rural girls pursue ballet dreams

Guan had to persuade parents one by one to send their children to the ballet course. To show them the benefits of practicing ballet, Guan took his students to perform in prestigious schools and famous opera houses in Beijing.

Guan believes the sense of honor that comes with the performances gradually changed the parents' attitudes. Seeing some students successfully admitted to arts colleges has also played a role in changing parents' minds.
