Chinese leaders thankful for congratulations on election, endorsement

BEIJING -- President and Central Military Commission Chairman Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, top legislator Li Zhanshu, top political advisor Wang Yang, and Vice President Wang Qishan have expressed thanks for the congratulations they have received concerning their respective elections or endorsement that took place at last month's annual two sessions.
General offices of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the State Council, the Central Military Commission of China, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) issued statements of gratitude on behalf of the leaders.
Heads of state, governments and parliaments, chiefs of political parties and international organizations, organizations and personages friendly to China, and foreign ambassadors to China, as well as overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, sent messages congratulating the leaders, according to the statements.
Xi was elected Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China, Li Keqiang was endorsed as Chinese premier, Li Zhanshu was elected chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, and Wang Qishan was elected vice president, at the first session of the 13th NPC.
Wang Yang was elected chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC at the first session of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC.
