BEIJING - China's national supervisory commission was officially inaugurated Friday when the newly appointed deputy directors and members of the commission took an oath of allegiance to the Constitution.

Zhao Leji, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), attended the ceremony.

At a meeting attended by the CCDI and national supervisory commission officials, Zhao called on the officials to faithfully perform their duties as stipulated in China's Constitution, the Supervision Law and the CPC Constitution to secure victory in the fight against corruption.

Zhao said that integration of function, personnel and work is the top priority for the CCDI and the national supervisory commission, who work together while keeping separate identities.

Zhao called for the commission to grasp the basic point of reform of the national supervisory system, stick to the CPC centralized and unified leadership, take a people-centered approach, and carry out supervision of all public posts.

Anti-graft organs at all levels should improve self-supervision, he said.

The meeting was presided over by Yang Xiaodu, director of the national supervisory commission and deputy secretary of the CCDI.
