Poetry collection

Jia Qianqian, 39, associate literature professor at Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, has released her first collection of poems, The Hundredth Night, which was hailed by veteran critic Zhang Qinghua from the Beijing Normal University as "naturally closest to poetry in its original sense". Jia is also daughter of the country's most celebrated writer Jia Pingwa. But she is reluctant to talk about it, and would prefer her readers to focus on her own writing. With more than 130 poems, Jia shows she is an observer of nature and human emotions. And she tries to break the boundaries between different styles. Her father says he learned of her writing recently, and was amazed by her ideas that "I don't think I can catch up with".
