Yao Ming:

*Giving mental consultation sessions to Winter Sports Olympians

"Every athlete who participated in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics understands how much pressure there was to compete in a home Olympics. The mental toughness to handle weighty expectations will play a big part in our athletes' preparation for the 2022 Beijing Winter Games. I suggest we involve some of the participants from 2008 to give mental consultation sessions to our winter sports Olympians to help them remain at ease."

*Planning for athlete-centered 2022 Winter Olympics

"Meeting the demands of participating athletes plays a big part in a successful hosting of the Olympics. We hope to turn every athlete into a promoter in 2022 by providing them the best services we can."

Han Zirong:

Secretary-general of Beijing 2022 organizing committee

*Olympics is about leaving lasting legacy

"A successful Olympic Games is supposed to make the host city a better place, as long as we integrate preparations for the Games with economic and social development. By staging the 2022 Winter Olympics, we expect to boost industrial development in sports manufacturing, the regional transportation network, environmental protection and sports and leisure tourism. It's not about fulfilling a task. It's about leaving a long-lasting legacy."

Feng Jianzhong:

Member of the 13th National Committee of CPPCC and former vice-minister of the General Administration of Sport of China

*Engaging as many winter sports fans as possible

"To promote winter sports as part of a vibrant lifestyle, we need to not just encourage people in North China to participate more, but we have to engage as many fans as possible in the southern part of the country. We should also start working to collect, protect and display all videos, documents and knowledge related to the 2022 Winter Olympics from now on as cultural legacy to influence generations to come."
