All-China Women's Federation holds Women's Day event

BEIJING - The All-China Women's Federation held an event on Wednesday ahead of International Women's Day on March 8.

Chinese women have played an important role in realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation, said the federation's president Shen Yueyue.

Shen, who is also vice chair of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, said the federation will unify and lead the country's women to follow the Party and strive for the great success of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.

More than 1,000 women from various circles, along with foreign diplomats and experts attended the event.
