Her grandmother Ma Deming is in poor health as well, being inflicted with lumbar disc herniation, rheumatism and gastric ulcers.

The first time she carried her grandma from their home in Taoya village to the clinic, Li had to take frequent rests because she was too young and her grandma weighed 35 kilograms. It took her more than one hour to reach the clinic.

The doctor in the clinic was so amazed that he kept saying it was unbelievable that a girl of her age could carry a grandma.

"As I am older, I take breaks less frequently when I carry my grandma. My grandma was very nice to me when I was a child. Now it is my duty to take care of her," she said.
