Residents laud Chinese contractor's work

Liu Yuanxin, the CMEC Kenya deputy CEO, says the project schedule is 24 months but they hope to complete it within 14 months. "CMEC has the capacity and is committed to completing the project before schedule," he says.
So far, the company has employed 50 local people and pays them on time for good operations, relationships and friendship.
In what he calls as an established friendship between the company and the local community, Liu says that during the Christmas festivities, the local people brought them a goat to slaughter as an appreciation for their hard work.
"We will continue to make sure that we have a good relationship with the local community," Liu says.
Having entered the Kenyan market in 2016, Liu says CMEC looks forward to doing several infrastructure development projects in the country. So far, the company is working on the Kipeto wind farm power project.
The Ksh22.6 billion Kipeto wind farm is expected to generate 100 megawatts.
To date, CMEC has 26 affiliates in the Chinese mainland, 13 affiliates in the Hong Kong Special Administration Region and foreign countries, as well as 26 representative offices overseas.
