Lantern carnival illuminates ancient Xi'an

A lantern carnival, the biggest of its kind in Northwest China, was staged in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, Feb 28,2018. Various styles of lanterns that integrate local folk elements with animated cartoon images were on display both on land and in water, creating an interesting cultural mix appealing to both old and young generations. The carnival was held to welcome the upcoming Lantern Festival, which falls on March 2 this year.[Photo/VCG]
