SHANGHAI -- Intelligent and high-end equipment will be a highlight at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in Shanghai in November, authorities said Tuesday.

Global enterprises such as Dell, Nokia, GE and Emerson have signed up to attend and will display advanced technology and products at the intelligent and high-end equipment exhibition zone, according to the expo's organizer.

The zone covers sectors such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, energy conservation, 3D printing and new energy equipment.

Tawara Kazuyuki, chairman of the board at Nachi (Shanghai) Co, Ltd, said that he hopes to show and improve the company's robotic products and technology through the expo.

China has promised to boost imports, announcing plans to purchase more than $10 trillion of goods and services in the next five years.

The first CIIE will be held in Shanghai in November, which is expected to bring together thousands of enterprises from more than 100 countries.
