Chinese courts go digital

BEIJING -- Chinese courts have made significant progress in digitalization and offering better litigation services, according to a report on their development.
In 2017, people's courts have created a network combining internet with legal services, and improving technology for intelligent trials, said the report issued by the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Social Sciences Academic Press.
The development of big data has also achieved rapid growth, which will be used in judicial decision making and state governance, said the report.
The report highlighted goals for the courts in 2018, including focusing on legal services, keeping up with advanced technology, and improving efficiency.
