A total of 12 artworks featuring Chinese cultural elements, including traditional brocades and costumes, are being exhibited in shop windows at Galeries Lafayette in Paris from Thursday to Feb 26. The exhibition was co-organized by the China Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG) and Galeries Lafayette Group.

This is the second shop window exhibition of Chinese art at Galeries Lafayette. The exhibition includes 11 shop windows and a video exhibition hall. Song Xiewei, dean of the School of Design, Central Academy of Fine Arts, was the main designer. Referring to a masterpiece landscape painting, he worked with experts in graphic design and costume design to present a unique feast of visual enjoyment.

"More celebrations of Chinese Spring Festival can be seen in France. It not only indicates that France is open to all culture, but also that Chinese culture is more and more popular among French people. Shop window exhibitions of Chinese art have been held at Galeries Lafayette, a popular shopping mall for Chinese tourists, for two consecutive years. We hope the art exhibition can become a highlight of the celebration of Chinese Spring Festival," said Zhai Jun, China's Ambassador to France.

Philippe Houzé, executive chairman of Galeries Lafayette Group, said he appreciated the exhibition as the perfect combination of modern Chinese art and cultural heritage. He was pleased to be a part of the activities to promote cultural exchange and innovation.
