When you are waiting for the train to take you home, do you know what the train driver is doing before his departure?

Even in the early spring, the lowest temperature is still around -30 C in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province.

Despite the extreme cold, Yang Zhiwei, a train driver of Harbin-Dalian High-speed Railway — the world's first high-speed railway in a frigid zone — arrived at Harbin West Railway Station early Tuesday morning for his shift.

After 40 minutes’ rest and relaxation in an intelligent system for reducing pressure, Yang began prep work for the departure. [Photo by Wang Di/for chinadaily.com.cn]
