South China road collapse caused by construction site flood

GUANGZHOU -- The collapse of a road that killed eight people in South China's Guangdong province was caused by flooding.
The collapse happened around 8:40 pm on Wednesday at a subway construction site in Foshan city. Eight people were killed on the spot, three are missing and nine have been taken to hospital, according to the city government.
According to preliminary investigation, a sudden flood occurred at the construction site at 7 pm. The collapse came after a tunnel segment was damaged by water.
The collapse stretched more than 30 meters.
