President Xi Jinping's vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind demonstrated China's responsibility to the world, said a senior Nepalese political leader.

Yuba Raj Chaulagain, Politburo Member and Secretary of the International Department of the Communist Party of Nepal, said that Xi's proposal is "very good vision" and a "noble idea".

"This is the noble idea of cooperation between and among the nations for human beings for the betterment of their lives," he told China Daily in a written interview.

Xi's proposal is "the proof of the responsibility taken by him for the people of the world, the proof of the goodness of the Chinese nation and the proof of the height of wisdom of CPC leaders," he said.

"We all have a duty to protect our beautiful planet, have to share common duties for the common future," he said, adding that the proposal was incredible.

The Belt and Road Initiative is the solution to the problems of the development of nations and is the way forward to the fulfillment of a better life with better surroundings for the ordinary people, he said.

On Jan 18, 2017, Xi made a keynote speech at the United Nations Office in Geneva under the title of Work Together to Build a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind, offering China's solutions to global challenges.

"Building a community with a shared future is an exciting goal, and it requires efforts from generation after generation," Xi said. "China is ready to work with all the other UN member states as well as international organizations and agencies to advance the great cause of building a community with a shared future for mankind."
