Japanese PM Abe to attend Pyeongchang Olympics

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is planning to attend the Pyeongchang Olympics in the Republic of Korea next month, a government source said Wednesday.

The ROK's presidential office said it welcomes Japan's decision for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to visit Seoul in time for the Pyeongchang Olympics.

"The two governments of Japan and the ROK have discussed Prime Minister Abe's visit for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and welcome Japan's decision to officially announce the visit," said the presidential office in a statement.
