Should mobile phones be allowed on planes?

Wi-Fi connection definitely would be welcomed, as you don't have to stay idle all the time during a flight, in particularly long-haul ones. If all the incoming emails could be cleared in the air, then there is no need to burn the mid-night oil when on the ground.
