China is strengthening innovation by developing high-tech industries with military technologies to boost military-civil integration, a move that aims to cultivate new growth drivers and boost the economy.

The experts in Zhengzhou Xinda Institute of Advanced Technology researched a new technology named Cone beam CT in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan province, which unlocked the mystery of the industrial CT.

The technology can rapidly and non-destructively acquire the three-dimensional structure of the object with the attenuation information obtaining from the Cone beam CT and the three-dimensional image reconstruction technology, which is high-resolution and isotropic, the institute said.

Zhang Gang, director of Project Management Department at the institute, said it is of great significance to promote the high-tech industries with military technologies to boost military-civil integration.

With rolling out an array of policies such as and "military-civilian integration strategy" and "Made in China 2025", scientific and technological innovations are breeding.

"This CT technology was first used in the military, while it could also be seen in civilian sectors step by step, greater integration will spur innovation and cultivate new engines of growth", Zhang said.

The technology is widely used in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, electronic devices, coal, materials, agriculture and other fields, according to an expert of institute.

The institute, a new research and development facility, it was jointly established by the People's Government of Zhengzhou, PLA Information Engineering University and the local High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

It has served for more than 50 companies and also provided over 5,000 units of various kinds of equipment to the armed forces since it was established in Dec 2015.
