The platform is a multiservice provider that offers group buying and online-to-offline food delivery. It was formed in 2015 when the group-buying website Meituan merged with the restaurant rating and review website Dianping.
On Dec 20, the platform announced expansion of its car-hailing service to seven Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Hangzhou.
After a new round of fundraising in October yielding $4 billion, Meituan-Dianping is valued at $30 billion, news website Caijing reported Dec 20.
